Zinn's reading talks about Chicano men and their masculinity. Chicano men are not treated very well in society, they don't get very good jobs and if they do get a job their boss treats them like crap. This cases them to be mad at their wives and children. I think the issue they are having is a internal one because they may feel bad about being put down all the time by their bosses or by anyone in society. They don't like the way they are treated so they take it out on others inferior than them.

As Marable and Espiritu mentioned in their articles, I do believe that women play a role in masculinity. I say this because a woman is what helps a man builds his masculinity, meaning a women boosts them and they act more manly. Men try to be manly so they can get noticed by women. As Marable said in his article the black woman have been through everything alongside the black male, such as slavery. A man having a woman by his side will make him feel like more of a man.

Blog Post #11

Me: Whats up?
Stacy: Nothing much, omg I have to tell you about the guy I met last night!
Me: Tell me, is he another douche bag?
Stacy: No not even I think it was love at first sight.
Me: Oh wow Stacy. What makes you think it's love.
Stacy: idk he was just so smooth, and he told me he was feeling me you know? He was so cute and sexy, we dance all night then he invited me to his house.
Me: That's what most guys do Stacy they try to talk to you and make you feel like the only girl that's important to them. He knows what he's doing, he's a real smooth talker.
Stacy: Ohh please, no he's not I mean he was so nice and he couldn't keep his hands off me. He bought like 6 shots of tequila.
Me: What his wrong with you? I can't believe your so clueless. If  I'm a guy and i see a cute girl in a club alone all im thinking about is getting her drunk and getting her in my bed.
Stacy: Well he did get me in bed, but it wasn't like im just some other girl you know. It was love i felt it.
Me: Your so easy, I bet he doesn't even call you back unless he just wants to get you in bed again.
Stacy: Whatever, your just jealous.
Me: really, you think im jealous? come on Stacy shit like this happens all the time. A guy meets a girl and the girl think she's in love, it's like your desperate.
Stacy: I know how it sounds, but when your in love you just know.
Me: Stop saying it's love you sound silly. If any girl go to the club in a tight dress and breast out, which guy wouldn't be all over her. Come on Stacy, be real
Stacy: Whatever, I don't wanna hear you.
Me: Whatever to you, the truth hurts sweety.

Blog Post #9: Coltrane

Children raised by one parent are usually more independent than one's raised by both parents. Children that are raised by single parents are more independent because they will see the obstacles that their parent have to deal with and this can affect the child. Single parenting can cause a child to be more responsible about everything and appreciate life more. I think That both parents are better for a child to have in their lives than one. With both parents, the child can have both a male and female figure.
