Lorber's reading basically talks about how society views genders. people are so used to seeing a woman on taking care of a child, that it shocks them if a man does it. i believe society looks at genders as the male being more dominant than the female. Both genders is what makes this world, and society is what makes the genders.
The last sentence is wonderful, but can you say more? How does this sentence relate to Lorber's title "Night to His Day"? If women behave in a dominant manner are they viewed as masculine?
ReplyDeleteI do believe that if women behave in a dominant manner they are viewed as masculine. Genders are viewed by how an individual acts, that is why I say society makes the genders. A male or female knows how to behave by what goes on in society.
ReplyDeleteSo it isn't acceptable for women to be dominant because being dominant is a masculine behavior. Hmm...why is being dominant considered masculine?
